Natural Hot Water Wells
Sri Lanka has nearly a dozen hot water springs primarily located towards the Eastern coast of the island due to a natural phenomenon underground. These hot water springs are of various sizes with some of them being major tourist attractions. Bathing using a bucket is allowed at these locations with changing rooms available for both males and females. These hot water springs are created by deep cracks on the bedrock and provide water of varying temperature. Some of these springs are steeped in ancient legends while others are used for religious cleaning and purification.
