Sri Lanka Getaway to the South

Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you'll be warmly welcomed by your Coco Blue representative. Embrace the beach vibes before heading out for a scenic boat safari on Koggala Lake. Cruise through mangrove-lined waters, explore the legendary Madol Duwa Island, and visit Cinnamon Island to witness the age-old cinnamon processing traditions. End your day with a sunset drink on the beach and unwind to the soothing sounds of the waves.  

Today is all about history, culture, and conservation. Start with a visit to a local Turtle Conservation Project where you’ll witness baby turtles being cared for until they are ready to be released into the ocean. Then, head to the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort — a colonial gem packed with charm. Explore the Dutch Reformed Church, the Maritime Archaeology Museum, the iconic Galle Lighthouse, and stroll through streets dotted with boutique shops and cozy cafés. Sip a cup of pure Ceylon tea and enjoy light refreshments inside the fort before heading back to your hotel for a relaxing evening.

Rise early and head to Mirissa for an optional but unforgettable whale watching adventure. Cruise into the Indian Ocean and look out for blue whales, sperm whales, and playful dolphins in their natural habitat. After the cruise, visit the picturesque Coconut Tree Hill, a palm-dotted cliff offering incredible ocean views. Spend the afternoon relaxing on Mirissa’s golden beach, where you can swim or simply bask in the sun. Today, journey to Hiriketiya Beach — a hidden crescent-shaped bay near Dikwella known for its jungle backdrop, calm waters, and surf culture. Often compared to Bali decades ago, it’s the perfect spot to swim, surf, or just soak up the sun. Return to your hotel for an optional hands-on Sri Lankan cooking experience where you'll learn to prepare local dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients, guided by expert chefs. After breakfast, set off for an exhilarating jeep safari at Yala National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s top wildlife destinations.
